School Age Program
Concord Child Care Center School Age Program is for children in kindergarten through 1st grade.  The program includes a wide range of enrichment choices including experiences with a range of art media, nature exploration, community awareness, indoor/outdoor games, community service, building projects, and drama/theater. Our program makes children feel like our child care center is a second home to return to after the structure and stresses of school and includes a space for children to relax and read or do homework.

Our program is inspired by children’s curiosity and natural inclination to learn through play. Teachers observe children’s play and listen carefully to children’s questions so they may support emergent projects and creations that come directly from the children instead of the teachers. In small group work teams and large group free choice activities, teachers provide invitations to the children on topics they express interest in.

The Concord Child Care Center started offering the School Age Program in 1976. Our program has grown to accommodate children as young as three months old to those completing third grade. Today our school age program serves 40 children a day. The program provides after school care during the school year and full day care on non-school days. The School age program follows the California Department of Education’s program standards for school age child care programs and is fully accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for enrollment in the School Age Program Program:

• The child must be between the ages of 5-6 years old , enrolled in kindergarten – first grade, attend Meadow Homes Elementary school or parent provides transportation

• Household income must not exceed State Median Income Ceilings.

Enrollment Application Process
If you meet the eligibility requirements listed above, you can apply for enrollment in this program by clicking the link below.

You will need to provide the child’s proof of birth date, proof of your household income, the child’s immunization record and proof of your current employment and/or school or training schedule.  Upon acceptance into the program, physical and dental examinations will be required and a Health History must be provided.  Printed enrollment application forms are available at our offices.
